Reverend Dr. Gregory A. McCants

Reverend Dr. Gregory Anton McCants is the Senior Minister of They Have Beautiful Feet Ministries, a ministry dedicated to sharing the Gospel through teaching, prayer, leadership, and community service.

At the urging of his late mother, Elder Margaret McCants, he established the Elder Margaret McCants Prayer Line, a weekly teleconference ministry that brings together believers from across the United States and abroad every Sunday evening. Now in its sixth year, the prayer line continues to encourage, strengthen, and unite people through prayer and the Word of God.

Born in New York City and raised in Harlem, Dr. McCants was educated in the New York City public school system before continuing his studies at the State University of New York at Old Westbury, The College of New Rochelle, and Union Theological Seminary. In 1993, he received a Doctorate of Humanities from Southern Vermont College in recognition of his leadership and service.

His commitment to education and community leadership began early. Dr. McCants was elected to Community School Board District 4 in East Harlem, where he became its youngest president. He later served on the Choice in Education Task Force, appointed by President George H. W. Bush, helping to shape conversations about educational opportunity.

Ordained in 1988 at Eastward Missionary Baptist Church, Dr. McCants has faithfully served in a variety of ministerial roles, including leadership positions at Cambria Heights Church of God and Riverside Church in New York City.

A lifelong advocate for young people, he founded the New York Boys Choir in 1978 and served as its director for more than twenty-five years, helping to develop generations of young leaders through music, discipline, and faith.

In public service, Dr. McCants served until 2019 as Director of Ministerial Services for the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, where he worked alongside faith communities and government agencies to support children, families, and communities throughout New York State.

Today, Reverend Dr. Gregory A. McCants continues to devote his life to preaching the Gospel, mentoring leaders, strengthening families, and serving communities through ministry, prayer, and compassionate outreach. His mission remains simple: to glorify God by helping people grow in faith, hope, and love.
